Sparked by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the current toxic state of Russia-Ukraine relations has been at the forefront of foreign policy discussions. On May 27, Brookings hosted Vice President Joe Biden, who delivered remarks on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and its implications for European security.
