Western sanctions on Russian military production companies and the operation in Eastern Ukraine has led Putin to direct more funding to the Russian Army.
In the past few weeks, Russian President Vladimir Putin has held at least nine meetings with top Russian military and military production officials to discuss the revision of military procurement plans under the current State Armament Program-2020 (Gosudarstvennaia programma vooruzhenii, or SAP).
