Since late January 2018, major transactions (as assessed by the US State Dept.) have been banned with respect to 33 Russian defense industry companies which appear on a list published by the United States Department of State in late October 2017. The list was issued under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) which was adopted a few months earlier.
