ASTANA, 20 June 2016 – An OSCE-supported training seminar for some 30 prosecutors and defence lawyers from different regions of Kazakhstan on plea bargaining and the role of procedural prosecutors in criminal procedure began today in Astana.
During the three-day seminar the participants will learn about issues related to the interpretation and application of the Criminal Procedure Code’s relevant provisions by legal professionals. International experts from the United States and Ukraine will familiarize participants with best practices in using plea bargaining in criminal proceedings and the role of prosecutors in preliminary investigation.
