In the comment to the website Novoe Vremia, Co-director of Foreign Relations and International Security Programmes of the Razumkov Centre Oleksiy Melnyk explained what threats could arise when the UN Security Council would be addressing the issue of the deployment of peacekeepers in Donbas to resolve the conflict.
Since 23 January, the UN Assessment Mission will be working in Ukraine to examine the situation in Donbas regarding the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping mission in Eastern Ukraine. Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Volodymyr Yelchenko invited the mission.
