On January 16, 2014 the Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada) adopted a number of legislative acts, including “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges” and procedural laws on additional security protection of citizens”, “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On elimination of negative impacts and preventing of prosecution and punishment of citizens, who participated in the events that took place during peaceful demonstrations”, “On amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine (concerning trial in absentia)” and others.
