Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called on his parliamentary party today to support Arseniy Yatsenyuk as prime minister, saying the country needs to be united “as never before” following Oct. 26 elections, the Bloomberg writes.
The People’s Front won the party-list vote because Yatsenyuk campaigned on “clear messages” and many Ukrainians trusted him, Yuriy Yakymenko, Deputy Director General, Director of Political and Legal Programmes of the Razumkov Centre, said.’The basis of the trust is that he is the first prime minister who is not afraid to say unpleasant things and whose words are followed by deeds.“ …read more
