If the United States joins negotiations in the “Normandy format”, it may be unfavourable for Ukraine since the country risks becoming a bargaining chip in negotiations. This opinion the expert of the Razumkov Centre, Mykola Sungurovskyi told the News of Ukraine.
He said that US joining negotiations can bring both positive and negative results. Moreover, Kremlin has long been dreaming to reach direct talks with Washington.
The expert noted that the conflict in Ukraine, and disagreements around it, do not define relations between the United States and Russia.
