Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with US President Joe Biden in Washington on 2 March during a working visit to the city. The head of German government was not accompanied by journalists or representatives of German companies. The talks were preceded by a brief statement from both politicians, in which they thanked each other for their ‘leadership’ in supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia.
