The heaviest fighting occurs in the Bakhmut area and Soledar, located northeast of Bakhmut. According to some sources, Ukrainian forces have begun pulling reserves into the city to reinforce defences. Russian troops were to continue to apply pressure on the line of the Zherebets River in the northeastern part of Donetsk Oblast, stopping attempts by the defenders to cross it.
